Will and I visited Highland Coffee Company a few months ago and we certainly had a fun time people watching! The coffee was pretty good, but the people and conversations happening around us were even better. We didn't completely write it off the list, but it's definitely not one we're dying to return to.
Atmosphere: The music at Highland Coffee Co. was good, quiet enough to study but loud enough to hear. The music did not match the decor of the shop at all. While the music was comforting and cozy, the shop was completely decked out for halloween (my least favorite day of the year, to be honest). I was not comforted or compelled to spend hours studying with vampires and zombies staring at me. Will and I assume that they must have normal decor they put back up when it's not October. The wifi was locked with a password and we could not clearly see it anywhere in the shop, so that was a little inconvenient. There were also lots of people there while we were there. It was hard to find a place to sit and when we did find one it was awkwardly squished and uncomfortable. There was very limited seating, although they did have lots of seating outside. Maybe this would be a good place to hangout in the spring or summer. Highland Coffee Co. overall had a pretty grungy and hippie kind of feel.

Coffee: The coffee was actually really good! I got a caramel latte and Will had one of the house black coffees, which he really liked. The price for my latte was reasonable at $4.29 for a medium. Highland Coffee Co. also has smoothies, teas, blended drinks, Jones Sodas, Naked juice, and lots of other juices. I think anyone could find something here that they would like.

Food: We didn't get any food, but unlike other shops we have been to, Highland Coffee Co. had lots of options. Paninis, yogurt, bagels, croissants, muffins, cake, break, and biscotti to name a few options.

Wow Factor: They really went all out for Halloween, which I personally hated. This could mean they go all out for other holidays too, so it could be super neat. They also had several business cards from places throughout the community which Will and I thought was great.

Parking: Parking lot and street parking

Overall: Highland Coffee Company is definitely not a favorite because of its cramped seating and weird vibes.
